Facilitator Hub Before Session 2: Message

Before Session 2: Message

One short message: read back the Session 1 ask and bring your slides

Send: the day after Session 1, while the ask is fresh. Optional one-line reminder 48 hours before Session 2.

Why so short: the ask was written on a card and photographed in the room. This message only reads it back, word for word. Don’t add new tasks or theory.

If nobody reads it: Session 2 opens with “show us your slides” anyway. Anyone who didn’t do it gets asked, kindly, “what got in the way?” Their answer is useful. Have the bad-slide pack to hand.

The message

Subject: Teaching That Lands, [date]: bring your slides

Hi [name / all],

Thanks for Session 1. Here’s the ask you wrote on your card:

“Before next week I will identify and redesign one or two slides (my own, or an example I find) and bring them.”

Bring: the slides you redesigned or found, on a laptop, phone or paper. A before-and-after is ideal.

When: [day, date, time] (90 minutes)
Where: [room, building]

Session 2 is Active Beats Passive.

Didn’t get round to it? Come anyway. We’ll start from wherever you are.

[Your name]

Reminder (48 hours before)

Teaching That Lands, [day] [time], [room]. Bring the slides you redesigned or found. Didn’t manage it? Come anyway.
